Czech-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce
The Czech-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce in the Czech Republic was established on October 30, 2008, the year of the first official visit by a Brazilian President (Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva) to the Czech Republic (April 12, 2008), with the purpose of strenghtening diplomatic, trade and cultural relations between both countries.
On the occasion of the official visit of President Lula da Silva to Prague, both countries signed an agreement on economic and industrial cooperation, focusing mainly on the issue of biofuels, an issue that was not included in a similar agreement for 1994. The agreement also includes cooperation in agriculture, technology, transportation and technical norms and standards, among other areas.
During his visit, Lula also stressed the need for trade missions between both countries as an effective way to increase the awareness about the potential of mutual investment.
